Assessor Reports & Rejoinders
Proposals, assessments and rejoinders are managed via the ARC online application system. The selection processes for Discovery Projects, Discovery Indigenous Researchers Development and Linkage Projects may include assessment by external peer assessors. Where the ARC seeks external assessments, applicants and nominated participants may be given the opportunity to submit rejoinders. Rejoinder may assist applicants and nominated participants to clarify any misunderstanding or difference of opinion about perceived weaknesses in the proposal. It also provides an important feedback mechanism that may help researchers in future proposals. The assessors' reports and the rejoinders may assist the ARC College of Experts or Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) members in assessing proposals. Not all schemes involve assessments by external assessors.
An overview of key dates and the assessment cycle is given for each scheme in the Instructions to Applicants. The ARC posts notices on the web when assessor reports are released and rejoinders are due. We also notify the Research Offices. Assessors' reports are made available to applicants and nominated participants via the ARC online application system .
Applicants and nominated participants are given access in the ARC online application system to the Rejoinder Forms when they are able to access the assessors' reports and have an adequate, though brief, period for submitting rejoinders.
Researchers involved in proposals submitted to the ARC are strongly advised to maintain contact with their Research Offices during the selection cycle.
