GAMS Roles for Research Office

Research office staff can have either 'Office' or 'OfficeAdmin' role, or both roles to access GAMS.

"Office" level access allows the user, within their own organisation, to:

• Create and edit applications
• Edit applications created by others within their institution at Draft, Valid and Officevalid status
• Validate Applications at Draft and Officevalid status
• Submit Applications to Office
• Unsubmit Applications back to applicants
• Submit and batch submit Applications to the ARC
• Download Application RTF
• Run Admin processes – (e.g.CSV Project Extract)
• Edit, Submit and Unsubmit Rejoinders
• Edit & print Final Reports
• Search & view Applications, Final Reports
• View Rejoinders, Client Records, deleted applications

"OfficeAdmin" level access allows the user, within their own organisation, to:

• Request New Client Accounts,
• Search & Edit Client Accounts
• Create & Edit Passwords
• Access and Print Final Reports
• Run Admin processes – (e.g.CSV Project Extract)

Other GAMS Roles

Applicant Role

Any researcher who wishes to apply for ARC funding, or be listed as a participant on a Research Application, must have a GAMS ID with "Applicant" Role.

Applicants can create, edit, print, view, search for, and submit their own applications, rejoinders and Final Reports.

Note: The applicant who first creates and edits an application on GAMS, is the only person who can edit and submit the application and Rejoinder. Other participants listed on a GAMS Application can view the application and rejoinder.

Assessors Roles

Assessors can search for and access projects and assessments assigned to them, and edit, view and submit their own assessments.

To ensure the confidentiality of assessments, Research Office staff cannot reset the passwords of individuals with one of the assessor roles of Ozreader, Intreader or EACM. (EACM or Expert Advisory Panel Member is now known as College of Experts, but the role name on GAMS has not changed.)

Other Roles

The other roles in GAMS are only for ARC staff:

ARC and ARCADMIN - Only for ARC staff who administer the NCGP,
SUPER - Only for ARC Systems Staff, and
ED - only for ARC Executive Directors.
