Setting up a GAMS Administrator

A Research Manager or equivalent person administering research for their organisation can nominate themselves or another person in their office to be a GAMS administrator.

Description of GAMS Roles

GAMS Administrator has two levels of access, “Office” role and “OfficeAdmin” role. An individual can have both levels.

Generally, a GAMS Administrator is responsible for the following activities:

  • Requesting GAMS access for participants on research proposals and other Research Office (or equivalent) staff.

    - GAMS Account information
    - Instructions on requesting a GAMS ID

  • Updating client details and assigning passwords for researchers.
  • Fielding any inquiries about GAMS or ARC funding programs.
  • Checking applications to be submitted, and submitting electronic and paper copies of applications.
  • Administering any successful grants where their institution is the Administering Organisation.

Please note that the GAMS administrators are the first point of contact for any ARC queries from their Institution’s staff. That is, your researchers should contact GAMS administrators with any queries relating to ARC, GAMS and programs in the first instance. GAMS administrators can contact ARC staff if they require clarification.
