The Opportunity

The ARC is seeking an ED with expertise in Engineering and Information Sciences to oversee major funding schemes and corporate portfolios across these broad discipline areas. The ED will contribute to the management of the NCGP, deal with academic matters and government initiatives and lead, develop and implement new schemes and other strategic initiatives.

The successful applicant will report to the CEO and represent the ARC and liaise with the research community and industry in regard to ARC research funding and initiatives.

To be a strong contender for this role you will have:

  • Significant experience as a leader in the field of Engineering and Information Sciences
  • A strong understanding of public administration with a particular focus on academic matters and government initiatives
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to work collegiately with a broad range of stakeholders from industry, government and the wider community
  • Proven experience in providing sound advice on potentially sensitive issues with diplomacy and tact, and in identifying and addressing potential risks to the reputation of the ARC.

The successful candidate will be employed as a Non-Ongoing SES employee in the Australian Public Service, in accordance with the provisions under the Public Service Act 1999.
