Cochlear STEMSmart UNSW Science 50 50 Event—21 September 2015

A new initiative, supported by the ARC, inspiring young women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) has provided students with a ‘hands-on’ opportunity in STEM knowledge. In September 2015 Cochlear hosted STEMSmart at The University of New South Wales’s advanced manufacturing facility to support the initiative—Science 50:50 (created by ARC Georgina Sweet Australian Laureate Fellow, Professor Veena Sahajwalla). The STEMSmart event provided 50 female high school students in NSW with a hands-on opportunity to see how STEM knowledge can lead to stimulating careers in fields such as developing and manufacturing world leading products that change lives by helping people to hear and be heard. To watch a video and hear from the students about their experiences please view the Cochlear STEMSmart UNSW Science 50 50 Event video now available on YouTube.
