Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research by an Interdisciplinary Team
The Australian Research Council Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research by an Interdisciplinary Team encourages outstanding, innovative research that demonstrates the benefits of practical interdisciplinary cooperation.
It is awarded to an Australian research partnership, group or team for a groundbreaking research outcome that has involved collaboration and integration between researchers from two or more unrelated disciplines.
On 18 August 2009, Australian Research Council (ARC) Chief Executive Officer, Professor Margaret Sheil, presented the $10,000 ARC Eureka Prize to the Investment Framework for Environmental Resources (INFFER) group—Professor David Pannell and Sally Marsh, Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy, University of Western Australia; Dr Anna Roberts and Jennifer Alexander, Department of Primary Industries, Victoria; and Geoff Park, North Central Catchment Management Authority, Victoria.
INFFER is a project that integrates biophysical, economic and social research to help governments and managers make sound decisions about investing in threatened environmental assets.
