The end of an ERA-trial
Australian Research Council (ARC) Chief Executive Officer, Professor Margaret Sheil, today released the national outcomes of the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative trial of Cluster Two.
Cluster Two encompasses the Humanities and Creative Arts disciplines.
“The outcomes show that Australia is performing particularly well in the Humanities and Creative Arts disciplines of History & Archaeology and Philosophy,” Professor Sheil said
“The release of the Cluster Two outcomes signifies the end of the ERA trial.
“Throughout the trial, the ARC and Research Evaluation Committees have identified and worked through issues to ensure that the full ERA is robust and caters to the evaluation needs of each discipline cluster.
“I am pleased with the 2009 ERA trial and consider it successful in helping the ARC to develop and deliver such an important Government commitment.
“I would like to thank the participating institutions, the ERA Cluster Two trial Research Evaluation Committee and ARC staff for their contribution to the development of ERA and many important outcomes for the ARC and the sector.”
