Funded Projects Centres of Excellence 2003

The 2002 funding round for ARC Centres of Excellence has concluded. Applications closed on 16 September 2002. The Minister approved financial assistance of $17,800,865 in 2003 to establish 8 ARC Centres of Excellence. Overall ARC funding assistance for ARC Centres of Excellence from 2003 to 2007 is expected to total $89,004,323.

In 2006, consistent with the funding rules for the 2003 cohort of Centres of Excellence and ARC Centres, a comprehensive review of the Centres was conducted with a view to providing an extension of funding through to the end of 2010.  A rigorous review of each Centre of Excellence and ARC Centre was conducted during the second half of 2006 and extensions of funding additional to the original 2003 funding were approved for those Centres displaying exceptional performance.
