Special Research Initiative for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researchers’ Network

In 2012, the Australian Research Council (ARC) will fund a new research network which will build the capacity and leadership of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers through the ARC’s Special Research Initiatives (SRI) scheme. The Australian Government has committed funding of up to $3.2 million for a period of up to four years.

Scope

The Special Research Initiative for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researchers’ Network (SRI ATSIRN) will fund a national collaborative Network, to be led by experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers. The Network’s core functions will be to build Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research capacity, mentoring new researchers and advancing research in Indigenous Knowledge Systems.
