Special Research Initiative for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researchers’ Network

In 2012, the Australian Government funded the Special Research Initiative for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researchers’ Network.

The Network will bring together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers of all career stages and from a range of discipline areas at research institutions across Australia. The Network’s core functions will be to build Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research capacity, mentor new researchers and advance research in Indigenous Knowledge Systems.

The successful proposal is titled “National Indigenous Research and Knowledges Network” (NIRAKN).

Funding: $3,198,392 over four years
