On 20th August 2014 the ARC welcomed Dr Chris Tyler, Director of POST.

POST is the UK Parliament's in-house source of independent, balanced and accessible analysis of public policy issues related to science and technology in the UK.

Its aim is to support parliamentarians in decision making and help examine science and technology issues effectively by closely working with the Libraries, Select Committees and All-Party Parliamentary Groups of the UK.

The ARC and Dr Tyler discussed the ARC’s role in the Australian science and innovation system, and its role in providing advice to Government. There was also discussion of the UK’s initiatives to stimulate industry involvement in research, and the similarities and differences between them and ARC’s Linkage and ITRP Programmes.
