In 2014, the Australian Research Council (ARC) funded a new research initiative to support Type 1 Diabetes research through the ARC's Special Research Initiatives (SRI) scheme. The Australian Government has committed funding of $35 million over five years which is being administered by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia (JDRF).

Scope

The Special Research Initiative for Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes is funding a national collaborative network to coordinate team-based cross-disciplinary research projects. The network's core function will include significant progress towards finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Request for Applications and selection documentation from Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Australia (JDRF)

JDRF publishes Requests for Applications (RFAs) and selection outcomes to be administered through the Australian Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Network. RFAs are currently open for the Innovation Award which aims to advance promising innovation that would improve the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. Applications will close at 5.00pm AEST on 22 July 2016.
