Students boost future job prospects in automated world—10 March 2016

In a new partnership involving Queensland University of Technology’s ARC Centre of Excellence for Robotics Vision, school students will be inspired to pursue careers in coding, computer science and robotics, and be assisted to be ready for the challenges of a future automated workforce. A new centre of Excellence in Automation and Robotics—established in a partnership between the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) and Alexandra Hills State High School, with support from Queensland University of Technology (QUT)—will provide students with cutting-edge experience to become ‘innovation and technology architects’ of the digital age. QUT will provide an injection of current leading university expertise in robotics and automation, plus student access to QUT’s ARC Centre of Excellence for Robotics Vision.
