The ARC has released select data submitted by universities for ERA 2018. The objective for releasing this data has been to improve the transparency and accountability of the ERA process and to better align with the Australian Government Public Data Policy.

To access this data please visit ERA 2018 research outputs. Note: performance ratings are available as part of the ERA 2018 National Report.

Extent of the ERA 2018 submission data published

ERA uses research outputs as a primary indicator to assess research quality. Research Evaluation Committees make judgments about the quality of the set of research outputs and other submitted information within a Unit of Evaluation (UoE) according the criteria set out in the ERA methodology.

The ERA submission data consists of data relating to:

  • researchers
  • research income
  • research outputs
  • applied research measures.

The ARC has published ERA 2018 submission data for all assessable UoEs, including those that are not rated, that have 10 staff creators or more. The ARC will not release author names or details of Fields of Research coding and apportionment.

The scope of the published data is limited to the research output metadata by research output type in the UoE. The ARC will allow others to download and reuse the data.

The published data includes:

  • Research output type (Book, Book chapter, Journal article, Conference publication, Non-Traditional Research Output)
