Nominations for 2022 ARC College of Experts closes on 25 June 2021

Each year, the ARC calls for nominations from suitably qualified and experienced individuals across all disciplines to join the esteemed ARC College of Experts. College member appointments are highly competitive, with members drawn from higher education, industry and public sector research organisations.
The call out for nominees for the 2022 ARC College of Experts opened on Tuesday 18 May 2021 and will close on Friday 25 June 2021. Nomination is submitted through the ARC’s Research Management System (RMS).
ARC College of Experts members play a key role in the ARC’s peer review processes to ensure that government funding is spent on the highest quality research that will grow knowledge and innovation for the benefit of the Australian community.
Members assist the ARC by:
- assigning external assessors
- assessing and ranking ARC grant applications submitted under the National Competitive Grants Program
- moderating external assessments
- providing recommendations for fundable applications to the ARC CEO
- assisting with recruiting through the nomination of new assessors
- providing advice for peer review process improvement
- providing strategic advice to the ARC on emerging disciplines and cross-disciplinary developments.
The ARC is committed to improving the diversity and balance of membership on the ARC College of Experts and encourages qualified people from a broad range of groups to nominate. This includes but is not limited to:
- Gender diversity
- People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander origin
- Industry
- Public sector organisations
In selecting new members, the ARC considers the expertise and experience of individuals, as well as balancing representation and discipline expertise coverage across the College of Experts.

The ARC held an information session, via Zoom Webinar, with potential College of Experts nominees on Friday, 11 June 2021. The session was well received, with over XX potential nominees participating.
