Please note the following changes to the ARC Grants Calendar for Linkage Projects 2021 (Round 3), Discovery Indigenous 2023 and Discovery Projects 2023:

  • Linkage Projects 2021 (Round 3) Applications and Request Not to Assess will now close at 5:00 pm (AEDT) Friday 17 December 2021.
  • Discovery Indigenous 2023 Rejoinders will now open on Friday 27 May 2022 and close at 5:00 pm (AEST) Tuesday 14 June 2022.
  • The opening of applications for the Discovery Projects scheme for funding commencing in 2023 scheduled to open in the Research Management System (RMS) on Wednesday 10 November 2021 has been delayed.

The updated key dates for Linkage Projects 2021 (Round 3) and Discovery Indigenous 2023 are available on the Grants Calendar.

The ARC will advise when key dates for the Discovery Projects scheme for funding commencing in 2023 will be updated in the Grants Calendar available on the ARC website.

In recognition of this challenging period some ARC grant opportunities have been delayed to ensure stakeholders have adequate time to prepare, consider and submit applications.

Following targeted consultation with the research sector, including through webinars, and outreach meetings, dates in this calendar have been amended to allow for quality applications whilst recognising many institutions have a year-end shut down.

Please also note:

  • Closing dates are staggered to allow applicants and university administrators adequate time to finalise applications.
  • Closing dates of the Australian Laureate Fellowships and Discovery Early Career Researcher Award have been separated to allow processing time (for Research Offices and the ARC).
  • In recognition of year-end shut down, no applications close for 3 weeks from 20 December 2021.
  • Dates avoid overlap with other government grant rounds.
  • Early career researchers have been granted additional time, with applications extended until February 2022.
