Information collected in the Final Report for an ARC-funded project is used to determine whether the project has reached satisfactory completion.
Statistical information collected in Final Reports enables the ARC to account for public funding of research and to promote the value of research to the Australian community.
Final Reports forms are required to be completed for Projects for which ARC funding has been fully expended. Final Reports must be submitted at the completion of the Project to comply with the conditions of the ARC Funding Agreement.
A Project is considered complete once all ARC funding is spent. This also includes any funding located at Collaborating Organisations and carryovers requested.
Although Final Report forms may appear in RMS for Projects prior to their completion, due to a request to carryover funds, the due date for the Final Report will remain at either 6 or 12 months (depending on the Funding Agreement) after the completion of the Project, unless otherwise approved by the ARC.
The ARC will not accept the submission of a Final Report prior to the completion of a Project.
Final Reports can be completed and submitted via the Final Reports module in RMS. Final Reports that are not submitted via RMS will not be accepted by the ARC.
The Project’s lead investigator (first named participant) is responsible for completing and submitting the Final Report to their Research Office, however named Project personnel and Research Office staff can also edit Final Reports in RMS. It is the sole responsibility of the Research Office to certify and submit completed Final Reports to the ARC.

All enquiries relating to Final Reports, including missing Final Reports for finalised Projects, or incorrect data in any of the auto-populated fields, should be directed to the Research Office in the first instance. Research Offices may contact the ARC to follow up if required.
Completing and Submitting your Final Reports
Final Reports from all Centres are required within six months of completion of projects.
Proformas are to be completed and emailed to centres[@]arc.gov.au. Signed copies of Final Reports should be posted to the ARC at the address below:
