Professor Karen E McNamara Administering Organisation: The University of Queensland Fellowship Project Summary IL250100012 - Co-developing solutions to address climate-driven loss and damage Professor McNamara aims to identify the most effective strategies to address climate-driven loss and damage affecting the ancestral lands, culture, and wellbeing of Pacific Island communities. Partnering with a dynamic consortium, this program will co-design innovative solutions that build local capacity and prevent cascading societal breakdowns from loss and damage. Expected outcomes include practical interventions and best practice knowledge that will shape policy and practice across multiple scales. This will transform the lives of affected communities in the Pacific, improve Australia’s international development program, and support regional stability, thereby fulfilling Australia’s shared responsibility to safeguard our region.
