Member Mr Mark Stickells AM has extensive experience at the intersection of government, research, industry and higher education. He is Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, a national Tier-1 supercomputing facility applying high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and quantum-enabled computing to power data-intensive research and accelerate scientific discovery in support of national priorities and Australia’s sovereign capability. He brings deep experience in research governance, large-scale infrastructure stewardship and cross-sector engagement, and also serves as a non-executive Director and Vice President of Science & Technology Australia and as a member of the Western Australian Government’s Science and Technology Council. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2024 for significant service to science, particularly information technology, and to the community.
