Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Researchers and Research

The ARC is committed to ensuring that all eligible researchers have the same opportunity to participate in the funding schemes of the National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP) including those from underrepresented groups.

In addressing this commitment, the ARC:

• provides targeted funding for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers through the Discovery Indigenous scheme
• includes the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education as Eligible Organisations to administer funding under the NCGP
• engages with stakeholders about support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers.
