Date: 16 September 2026 The Forecast Opportunity for Future Fellowships for funding commencing in 2027 (FT27) is now available on GrantConnect: Forecast Opportunity – FT27 FT27 will operate under the Discovery Program: Discovery Fellowships Grant Opportunity Guidelines – Future Fellowships (2026 edition) (Guidelines). The scheme eligibility settings for FT27 are unchanged from previous rounds, including the cap of a maximum of 3 submissions (attempts). Details of any changes have been communicated to the sector via the ARC website: Update to the Industrial Transformation Research Program 2027, Future Fellowships 2027, and Discovery Projects 2028 grant opportunities. The updated Guidelines also introduce a requirement that all named participants must hold a persistent digital identifier, such as an Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier (ORCID), in their RMS Profile prior to commencement of the project. Please ensure you refer to the updated Guidelines when preparing an application. Please note ARC Grant Opportunity Guidelines are legislative instruments that have been tabled in Parliament and may be subject to disallowance. Applications for FT27 will open in the Research Management System on Wednesday 23 September 2026.
