Date: 24 September 2026 The Australian Research Council (ARC) has published updates to the 2026–27 National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP) Scheme Calendar. As previously announced in August 2026, the ARC will run an additional round of the Discovery Projects scheme in 2027: Discovery Projects 2028 (DP28) The NCGP Scheme Calendar remains the authoritative source for indicative scheme timings and has been updated to reflect this announcement. The announcement in August outlined key changes to the round. The DP28 Grant Opportunity Guidelines and documentation with full details are expected to be provided on GrantConnect in late October in advance of the scheme opening, subject to the guidelines passing the disallowance period. The NCGP Scheme Calendar will be further updated in due course to include Explore, the first new scheme under the revitalised NCGP.
