Date: 28 July 2025 The ARC’s increased use of PIDs will reduce duplication of research, improve researcher accountability and research reproducibility, and is critical to increasing the quality of data available to the ARC for any future research evaluation exercises.The ARC will commence work on the goals of the ARC PID Action Plan in 2025 with all projects expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The PID Action Plan has five goals: Goal 1: ARC grants have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Goal 2: All Administering Organisations applying for an ARC grant have a Research Organisation Registry (ROR) identifier Goal 3: All named personnel have an Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) and supply it during the establishment phase of ARC awarded grants Goal 4: ARC’s Research Management System (RMS) ORCID integration ‘writes’ back to ORCID Goal 5: ARC has a FAIR Data PolicyFor more information, please see the ARC PID Action Plan on the ARC website:PID Action Plan
